I am a painter living and working in Berkeley, CA. I graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from Smith College and continued studies in Landscape Architecture at Radcliffe and UC Berkeley. I chose not to pursue a career in that field, after discovering that I loved the design elements but hated the drainage problems. For twelve years I had a small business working with interior designers and architects creating custom hand-painted tiles and tile murals, but I have gradually shifted my focus away from custom work to painting what personally interests me, and I find my work is becoming more activist. This began with the Barn Series, painted as a tribute to small family farms and farmers. My new series examines our relationship with the animal world, from the animal's point of view. The name of this series is If Animals Could Tweet.... Can you imagine what they'd say?
