As I've been photographing and painting barns, I've become very aware of the many crows and ravens that hang out around farms. In fact, it seems like there are just generally more of them everywhere these days. These small paintings (approx 10" x 10") are studies of these big, aggressive birds. I've included them in some of my larger barn paintings as well. I find them interesting and maybe a little sinister, perhaps symbolizing the threat of big, aggressive agribusiness to small family farms.
